We currently install Podpoint, Myenergi (Zappi) and Ohme car charging points.
Electric vehicle charging points need to be installed by a fully qualified electrician and several criteria need to be met to cover regulations.
A standard domestic charging point will be rated at 7kW. (Around 32 amps)
The installation process involves wall mounting the charge point on an exterior wall or garage, near to where you park and connecting it safely to the mains electricity supply.
An installation should take around a day to complete, depending on the individual requirements of the customer and the complexity of the installation. (A quotation visit and survey would be carried out prior to the installation to assess all requirements)
Many points now hold several safety features that no longer require the installation of an additional earth electrode or the installation of a more costly type B RCD.
A home charging point is a compact weatherproof unit that mounts to a wall with either a tethered cable or stand alone unit with cable purchased separately, usually through the car dealer.
The unit will be connected to your home WIFI and commissioned before leaving site.
