2021/2022 Charity updates

Despite the partial lock downs and interrupted year we had this year we still had quite a good year for fundraising and charity. The only disappointment is we didn’t get to go ahead with our 2021 charity football match which has always been our biggest fundraiser each year. However we are really hoping to get that organised this year.

All year we have run our donation scheme where we take £2.00 from every job payment and donate it to one of 5 chosen charities, in 2021 it was Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support, Teenage Cancer Trust and St Raphael’s Hospice. Through the scheme we managed to donate £163 to each of the 5 charities. We will continue this initiative into 2022 but we are going to drop to two charities with Cancer Research UK, our long term fundraising charity and St Raphael’s which is the most personal to us.

In September I was lucky enough to be invited to the St Raphael’s awards evening where we were awarded with the ‘Hospice Hero’ award for our fundraising over the last year. We have done a lot of work with St Raphael’s since my dad had an all too short stay there back in February 2020 before sadly passing away. Having seen the work that goes on there and how wonderful the staff and volunteers are I will always do what I can for such a wonderful place. We now carry a cash can on our tool bags and carried out another fundraising push up to Christmas. We currently have £200 ready to donate.

2022 is looking exciting with several things in the pipeline and as previously mentioned hoping to get our 2022 charity football tournament up and running again in the summer. Our previous events have raised over £9000 for Cancer Research UK. Keep an eye on our news page and social media for all the latest updated and get in touch if you would like to donate.

St Raphael's awards evening update.

On Friday night we were invited to the St Raphael’s awards evening and were nominated for the ‘Hospice Hero’ category. It was a wonderful evening with so many amazing people involved. We are delighted to say we won our category! We are extremely proud to fundraise and help St Raphael’s wherever possible and to win an award for doing so is a lovely touch. We will continue to help wherever we can are already looking at new ways to fundraise for the coming months/years.

St Raphael's update

This coming Friday 17th September we have been invited to the St Raphael’s hospice ‘A night full of stars’ awards evening. We have also amazingly been nominated in the ‘Hospice hero’ category of which we are extremely proud, we can’t wait for the evening and looking forward to meeting so many local fundraisers and fundraising companies.

We are also going to be featured in their September magazine which we are really looking forward to seeing, keep an eye out.

Working from home.

Working from home has become the norm for many people now due to everyone’s new Covid lifestyle. This doesn’t look like its going to change quickly and could well become a permanent feature of our new working schedules. Its become apparent that people spend a lot of time creating office spaces/home schooling areas, building new ones and organising working environments, but very few people consider the lighting.

Lighting plays a huge role in any space let alone a working space. Lighting has been proven to promote wellbeing, engagement and efficiency and also reduce fatigue and eye strain when used correctly. At a time when wellbeing is so important, it can be key to create a positive and productive working atmosphere.

If you have a working from home space or office we would recommend that you assess the lighting and ask for advice or an appointment to tailor the lighting to your needs. Give us a call or enquire within to find out more or book an appointment.

Covid-19 update as of 4th January 2021

After the governments latest announcement we want to reassure all customers that we will be continuing to work as normal in the safest possible way, customers health and safety is our number one concern. All booked work will continue as planned and work will continue to be quoted and booked as usual.

We will be tightening our health and safety procedures regarding sanitising and distancing, masks will be worn if requested. We still have video chat quotations available for booking if customers would prefer to keep contact to a minimum and we can organise appointments so we are distanced from customers if required.

Our aim is to provide a quality service in a safe, responsible manner that helps customers feel comfortable. If you have any questions or concerns then do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for supporting us!

2021 Big 5 donations scheme!

This year as of January 1st we will be donating £2 from every job we carry out to one of 5 chosen Charities. We have always been a big supporter of charities, but given last year taking such a hit with fundraising we wanted to up our efforts. Our 5 chosen charities are, Cancer Research UK, St Raphael's Hospice, Alzheimer's Research UK, Teenage Cancer Trust and Macmillan Cancer support. We will spread our donations evenly across the 5 but if anyone would like to contribute or has one of the 5 they specifically support, then please let us know or get in touch. Thank you.

We are also hoping that this year in the summer our charity football event will go ahead, having raised £9,200 from our previous 6 events and missing out on last year, we are really keen to push on and cross the 10K mark all in aid of Cancer research.
